I thought that this may be of some

help to some people looking into the

MGB, and I was so shocked by what

I saw, I had to post. I went to the Y

yesterday, just to weigh in, because

this is where I will work out, and use

those scales. I walked into the ladies

room where the scales are kept, and

luckly, I was the only one in there.

I stepped up, and hoped that I would

be able to atleast get a reading, because

the scales only go to 350( and when I weighed

in at Dr. R's office on April 1st at clinic,

I thought I was around 350, because

the last time I had weighed about 7 months

prior, I weighed 335. To my worst dream,

they had to add some weight thingies,

and I weighed 367 pounds. Talk about

depressed. But I also had been retaining

incrediable amounts of fluid.) Well any

way, I set the little weights on 300 and

pushed the little weight all the way over

to 50, and it did not move. I finally got an

acurate weight, and had lost 24 pounds!

I weighed again, for fear that I did something

wrong, but got the same weight. I can not

tell you how excited I was to read that.

Hopefully I will be inder 300 pounds by the

end of June. This much weight loss is also

due to how much I weighed going into

the surgery. But if any of you that are

my size wondering what kind of weight

you can lose, hope this helps!

ps... I also have a funny story about my

staple removal. My mother(who is a nurse)

and my 3 yr old(who thinks she is a Dr. ) were

the team that removed my staples. My mom

gave Karly the hemostats with a cotton swab

and betadine, to clean my incision area. My

Mom then removed the staple. It was a sight

for a PBS special for sure. My daughters

favorite TV show is Trauma in the ER...

go figure! A Dr. in the making! lol

Congratulations on your weight loss and just think you will have a Dr. in

the house before you know it. Better start saving now : )
