Guest guest
I met with a beautiful young lady this weekend regarding the MGB. (I average 2-3 a week these days!) Meghan and her DH Jay drove in to Tulsa from Guthrie, Oklahoma. It was a wonderful meeting and to my lay person's mind she is an ideal candidate. As luck would have it Jay's uncle is a very highly respected laparoscopic surgeon here in Tulsa, (Dr. " No Scar " Melichar). After our meeting Jay and Meghan went to consult with Dr. M. According to Meghan: " Jay's uncle has no reservations about the procedure and basically just reiterated all the risks involved, saying that those risks were trade offs with continuing at my current weight. He added that I should speak with patients who are 3-4 years post-op to see how they are doing. " That is the reason I'm writing. Meghan is having difficulty getting responses in general but especially from those who are from the beginning of the 648 series. Are there still any list participants from 1997 or 1998 or are all your live's too busy? Please consider taking the time to email Meghan about your life 2-3 years post-op. An alternative would be if everyone would keep their information and stats updated on the Association for Morbid Obesity Support web site. A profile there, with before and after pics if you like, is free and can be accessed here: http://www.obesityhelp.com/morbidobesity/index.phtml That way you can record your weight loss, critique Dr. Rutledge and Durham Regional and point the pre-ops in that direction. It's just a thought. Meghan's email address is mnorton@.... Thanks in advance for all your help. Sincerely, na MGB 12/27/1999 @ 272 & BMI of 51 06/05/2000 @ 187 & BMI of
