Guest guest
, I often have the episodes of short (10-20 minute) severe pain without eating. In fact, when I started back having problems after several months of no problems, I seemed to have most episodes that were not centered around eating. It really felt like the same pain of an acute attack but it just didn't last as long. The doctors managed to convince me that it wasn't from the panc. They treated me for an ulcer two different times. In July, I ended up in the hospital with an acute attack. My lipase was 10 times the normal limit. The pain was the exact same pain that I had been having (although prior to the attack, I had 3 months with absolutely no pain). I have been in the hospital 4 times since Jul 18th. Finally, the doctors have decided my pain is most likely from the panc because of sphincter of oddi dysfunction. My pancreas enzymes have only been elevated a couple of times for short periods but my liver enzymes have been elevated since before the attack in July. For the most part, I cannot really relate my episodes to anything I ate. Sometimes I can eat something that one would think would cause problems and nothing happens. Other times, I may have eaten something light and have an episode. The day of the attack in July, I had eaten a small carton of fat free yogurt. Still other times, I have not eaten anything and have the episodes. Pain when I haven't eaten?? Hello to all! Hope everyone is having as pain-free a day as possible! I have a question that has always slipped my mind while in the doctor's office - guess all the other junk that he is telling me takes my mind from the minor stuff! Does anyone have attacks of pain that are very, very similar to attacks of pancreatits when they haven't eaten anything. These things will only last for periods of 10-20 minutes, but they are really bad. I have to do the normal lean forward position - and they always happen at the most inconvenient times - work, car, etc. If you do have these and know why, let me know. I've just always accepted these as a result of CP, and maybe that's what I'll have to do. I just wondered. Anyways, I just want to say a special hello to - I hope today is better than the last few. I find myself worrying about you and praying for you at night, as if I'v known you for years. Your response from Psalms to the possible spam on Eugenics was beautiful and wonderful! You will remain in my thoughts and prayers. I would tell you to be strong, but I've watched my father go through alcohol wd after 30 yrs of being a alcoholic, and it was truly horrid! So, I'll just pray for a supernatural strength for you! Also, I just want to say a very heart-felt thank you to all of you wonderful and caring people in this group. Guest guest
, My body is much like that, too. I can eat some things one day and be fine. The other, I'll be in the ER in misery! I am sorry you've been through so much lately. I've not been to the ER - thank God - in five whole weeks! I am thrilled! There are certain things, however, that I know not to even try and smell (no corn products - which cuts out tacos and any mexican food just about)! How long have you had pancreatitis? I'm going on four years. Weston wrote:, I often have the episodes of short (10-20 minute) severe pain without eating.

Guest guest
Dear , It sounds as if you are starting the recurrent stage. This does not need any food or drink to happen, this is not minor stuff!!! You will need medication for this the longer it goes on. The amount of time it takes to get over it and it comes out of the blue. I have never figure out what to do to stop it. That is what landed me in the hospital some 60+ times. It did more damage than some of my quack doctors. By the way, I do not nor ever had an addiction to alochol. It was liquid dilaudid, legal heroin. I did not even know I was hooked until the pump was decreased. Thanks for the prayers, it has taken ever last one of them to get me through this. I got outside and enjoyed the cooler temps today. I stayed out to long and got the shakes again and still trying to calm them. This group is surely the most caring group in the world. I have seen groups that wish death to its members. It seems the devil does his business anywhere, and we had a sample of that this weekend. Thank you, > Hello to all! Hope everyone is having as pain-free a day as > possible! Guest guest
Hi ; This is new member Cyndie from Indiana. I just wanted to add my 2 cents worth here on why you may have pain and not have eaten. My question to you would be: What was your stress level like prior to the attack? I know that my panc. seems to feed off of my emotional state. Just a thought. It's 3 in the A.M here and my panc. is angry about something. So here's wishing everyone a restful night- incl. myself! God Bless! Cyndie :-) In pancreatitis@y..., " shelleytinsley2257 " wrote: > Hello to all! Hope everyone is having as pain-free a day as > possible!
