Gut-Brain and a little guy with very little brain

has severe brain damage (lost about 80% of it as a result of a

bleed at 5 weeks). He has CP, is cortically blind, developmental delay

and seizures. Anyway, he had been losing weight and I started him on the

SC Diet early Feb. At first he kept losing, but since Feb 22, he's

gained almost 2 pounds. He is getting stronger - Friday he squiggled

himself aroung 1/4 circle with his legs on his tummy, and he's kicking

his legs like crazy on his back (on command even - if you say " kick

" he goes crazy). He's also bearing some weight on his legs now,

before they would just collapse. He's showing amazing attempts at head

control especially when eating - he's bringing his head off the head

rest to lunge for food and if he flops forward he picks his head back

up. He is eating like a horse on the SC Diet, and I really think it is

making him stronger - I think I have the right combo now - ABR to

release his body, and the SC Diet to feed his brain. Now if only the

stupid seizures would stop completely. I am hoping once his gut heals

and his body is able to absorb all the good stuff he eats his brain

won't be so starved for nutrition.
