We will be thinking of you and sweet and hoping all goes very

smoothly and that she is on the road to better health after the surgery.

)O(

mama to , 2yo, w/CF, and , 4yo, no CF

will be having open heart surgery on Jan 7th

She has a vsd, which we have known about but we didn't think it was

causing her troubles. Echos haven't shown it to be a problem for

her. But she has had some problems which have been suspicious of

cardiac issues so they did a cardia cath on her a few weeks ago and

we discovered she has moderately severe pulminary hypertension. This

is probably caused both by the heart defect and by her bad lungs.

All of her docs agree that her heart needs to be repaired ASAP

because at this point she still responds to O2 and eventually this

condition will cause her not to which would be devastating with her

CF. So she is scheduled for surgery in less than 2 weeks. We hope

that she comes through it very easily but she does have a lot of risk

factors which she has going against her, but odds are still in her

favor.

Wow, this is tough. I will be glad for you and when the

surgery is behind you and you no longer have to worry about it. I'll

be thinking of you both. Please keep us posted.
