Here I sit with another brainy idea. I am also wondering if a database could

be set up on what enzymes and dosages everyone takes. I again try and keep

track of them, and continue to get confused.

Excellent question. I am new to enzyme therapy and I have been told to take

them with meals, or even after meals but this past trip to the hospital the

nurses always gave them to me about 20 - 30 minutes prior to a meal.

Enzymes

As a CP patient I am getting conflicting ways to take my

supplemental enzymes. My doctor suggests I take them in the middle

of a meal. My dietician says I should take them an half hour prior

to my meal. What say you?

Hi,

I'm on Creon now and my doc always said to me to take my enzymes just before

my meals.

He said that too much before or late, will not work.

Sometimes I take it during.

By the way sometimes oral enzymes are no much effective for me, I tried

various.

All the best,

Liane

What is the difference between enzymes and probiotics or are they the same

thing? What do you use each for? I have trouble with and fermented foods (ei

vinegar, wine, cheese, etc)

>>>> What is the difference between enzymes and probiotics or are

they the same thing?

They are quite different but overlap in function. They work quite

complementary with each other. An enzyme is a protein consisting of

the same amino acids as any other protein. The difference is that as

enzyme protein does work in the body. They are catalysts that make

biological functions 'go'. They are not living entities.

A probiotic is a living organism that eats, reproduces, and dies. A

probiotic is beneficial bacteria; the 'good' bacteria we need in our

guts for good health. Probiotics produce some digestive enzymes.

Probiotics in cultured foods produce enzymes there doing the work.

Eating the cultured food means you eat the good bacteria along any

enzymes produced. But probiotics tend to need to be replenished in

our bodies.

Research on both probiotics and enzymes show they have pro-actively

healing properties and benefit health in many ways. There is a large

amount of info at the enzyme site: www.enzymestuff.com

.
