When my rosacea was/is bad I get a swelling as a lump on my nose, the swelling forms a higher mound, goes very red and then gets a clear/whitish head as the fluid makes its way to the surface. Then it breaks through. The whole cycle takes like 10 days or so. I don't get bumps as big as a pound coin, maybe more like 10p. The rest sounds the same though. As I understand it, it is the flushing that causes the buildup of these `immune cells'. Over time the damaged vessels leak more and more and lesions can form more easily. Antibiotics can have a good anti inflammatory affect and reduce the irritation caused. The rosacea-ltd disk help me, but only for the more surface papules, anything deep under the skin will need something more systemic - maybe even ro/accutane. cheers, davidp. -- Pascoe, dp@..., South Perth, Western Australia
