I am not going to give up my diet cokes. It was bad enough to have to

give the regular coke up. There are times when I get them. Low blood

sugar, and its regular coke!!! There are times when it can save your

life. There are times when a diet soda can save your sanity. With

enzymes being a cause for pancreatitis, we have got to many factors

to deal with. I have been hearing warnings against diet formulas

since I was very young. My grandmother has drank diet for some 40

years. She is now 95 and says she will continue. If it is good enough

for her for these many years, it is good enough for me! Grandma would

not steer me wrong. She has a formula to go blowing past the age of

100. I got to play check up to get from week to week. Today, I have

had to do it to get from morning to night. The withdrawals were

bothering me bad again, today. I learned from the 1st serious batch.

There is help without rehab. I can not get through this without some

diet soda. It helps take the edge off some. It also helps me with the

nausea and blood sugars. As far as diet sodas goes, I have never had

a problem, except for the taste. How many years before you like the

taste? Grandma said she loves the taste of diet and not the regular

brands. I have been trying for 8 years and can not say this. It still

beats water and tea all the time. So make mine Diet Coke. This is not

my fight, mine is with the shakes again. The catapres-tts patches do

not last as long as they claim. This is where a battle should be

waged. I think the mice did not tell they docs this!

Thanks,

> Hi,

> I need your help fellow members. I remember a while back that

someone said that they were having trouble with NutraSweet, Equal, or

Aspartame. They said that they read somewhere that it can cause

flare-up of pancreatitis.

> Now even since I have been on vacation the end of July, whenever I

drink a diet soda I get a pain in my back and sometimes in my upper

right side too. This is the same place I get my CP pain. I have had

my kidneys check out for a possible infection and they are fine. I

know the easier answer would be just stay away from diet soda, but if

I want some, I need to drink diet, since I'm a diabetic. Sometimes

you just crave a diet soda , so I give in. It doesn't happen very

often, as I drink mostly Ice Tea, Water, and Sugar free-Juices.

> I guess my real question is, does anyone know of a diet soda or

drink that doesn't have Aspartame in it. I would like to try

something diet that doesn't have this in it to see if the Aspartame

is causing my problem or not. Maybe it something else causing the

problem that I haven't discovered yet. I guess it back to the food

journal. Thanks for your thoughts on the subject.
