Guest guest
Hi I have a newbie question. If something is illegal but doesn't cause me any problems, is then okay to use? Like STevia for instance. Doesn't seem to bother me. I know that we want to stay away from the biggies like grain, soy, starch, but wondering about other things. Because I know the converse to be true for me. Like carbohydrated drinks and garlic kill my gut. so though they are legal, i wont' use them. So, as in the Big s discussion, even we don't know what's in the " spices " if a product looks fairly legal (i.e., no sugar, grain, soy etc) but has spices, but doesn't bother our tummies then would it be okay for us to eat this product? Or are we trying hard to eliminate all items that are known to interfere with the healing of the gut? gwen pollara luca ds almost 3 scd 3 weeks " Today a new sun rises for me; everything lives, everything is animated, everything seems to speak to me of my passion, everything invites me to cherish it. If you fool around with the diet it may not work for you. BTW: If I find there are illegals in Big s I won't use them again and have only tasted them once on the say so of someone who was cured of UC and consulted Elaine about things often. She usedd Bg franks but I doubt she had a chance to discuss that with Elaine After 6 years of SCD I adhere 99% to whatever Elaine said to do as she really knew her stuff. You may not react at once to something illegal and if you are going to use several and do react you won't even know what it's from. My illegal after all this time was cheesecake until I started making the one on page 130 of BTVC which had no unexpected consequences and is a cinch to make. if you ask me, it's too good! Carol F. Strict adherence is the proscribed drill until one year after symptoms are gone.
