Guest guest
" ... then blot dry. I end up using about 20 drops of oil over my face.... " Hi Marjorie, I'm curious, 20 drops doesn't cause any kind of pore clogging for you? I find the Vita Oil so soothing , but am pretty sure that if I use more than a drop a day, my pores start to get clogged!!! Thanks, -=-=- I'm posting this email question because at first I thought exactly the same thing; in fact, the first two nights I did use only a drop or two. I see that I'm using a lot more oil than other posters are using, but I'm applying the oil to a dripping wet face. By adding the (approximately) 20 drops of oil, I'm creating an oil-water mixture, a cloudy liquid with the consistency somewhere between water and oil, that is very visible on my face when I look in the mirror. I then massage that mixture in, all over my face and neck, for a minute or so. Most of it still remains on my face at the end of the minute, and that is what I am blotting off. My goal is to allow the oil to be absorbed into my skin as much as possible; I'm hoping that the water plus the gentle massage will accomplish that. My skin does feel more naturally moist this way, and I also find that it lasts all day. It's not exactly the way I'd like it yet, but it's better than when I just applied a drop or two -- that made my skin feel like the moisture was too superficial, my fine lines were more apparent, and the dryness returned after 6-8 hours. I'd like my fine lines to appear less noticeable and for skin to feel like a newborn's skin, and the oil and water mixture works better for me than just applying the oil on a dry or slightly damp face. I'm so used to clogged pores, I think this is the first full week in decades that I've ever been without a blemish anywhere on my face. My skin is also less inflamed, but like I said I don't know whether that's the oil or that I'm no longer using moisturizers with emulsifiers. Note that I'm not using Dr. Sy's Vita Oil, which I didn't tolerate -- I'm using her Moisturizing Oil for Body and Face. The stuff in the big bottle.
