Hi everyone: when I went to clinic 6 days after surgery I had lost 14

pounds. I have not weighed since but I do feel myself " melting " . I am eating

only what I am supposed to eat but am going heavier on the soft foods,

lighter on the liquids for the past few days. I have very little " room " and

can only eat very small quantities. If I eat too much I am extremely

uncomfortable. I don't like discomfort, it slows me down, so I avoid feeling

that way by eating just enough and then eating again in a few hours when I

have some " room " .

I figure if Dr. R suggests doing a certain things he must have a reason so

I'll be compliant and see what happens. Doing things MY WAY got me to

Durham. My best thinking put me at 300 pounds so I need to use someone

else's thinking for a while. I don't have a pcp appointment until the 28th

so I will not weigh myself until then.

I do find that boredom is a problem for me. I am sort of lost what with

having so much extra time. I no longer cook like the king is coming, I don't

spend my time eating, planning to eat, cooking to eat, shopping to cook,

etc. and the upshot is that my husband is ridding himself of a few pounds

that need to come off him too. I'm having company for coffee this morning

(he drinks it, not me; I never did) and then I plan to rip the

computer/painting room apart in hopes to stave off some of the boredom.

Boredom leads me to thinking about food. There's not much point in thinking

about food when I have no where inside to put it.

I hope everyone has a good and positive day. Hugs to my friends on this

list. You entertain me, you inspire me, you sometimes annoy the hell out of

me...LOL, but you all help me get through the day with a positive attitude

about life and about this surgery.
