Guest guest
I have been lurking for a couple of months now and have finally gotten up the nerve to introduce myself. I am Aimee in Raleigh...just a little ways from Durham. I have turned in the patient information form, attended one clinic, and been denied once by my insurance company. I have WellPath Select and there is an exclusion that says " Any surgery for the primary purpose of weight loss, such as gastric bypass or balloon and stapling is not covered " . This is so disappointing. I don't really like having to " prove " myself to them by filing appeal after appeal. I have spent my entire life trying to prove myself. I am 37 and starting to feel that I am going to have major problems if I can't lose weight (in addition to those I already have). I think MGB is the answer for me and I can't wait to have the surgery. I am 5'4 " , 300 lbs and BMI of 51. I enjoy reading all of these logs, ya'll are great! You all inspire me to write more on my appeal letter....and be more " tough " in it. I am going to starting completing my contacts, so if anyone will be a contact for me I would appreciate it. Aimee MGB post-op wanna be
