I have been praying to have this MGB. I have filled out my patient

info and emailed it. I went to my regular physician and took reams

of info for him from this site. He said resoundly " NO. There are

too many complications and too often it does not work. " Oh well, he

did do a blood test to check my thyroid. He called me the next

morning (Last Tuesday) and said my thyroid was OK, but I was diabetic

with a very high sugar level. So when I went in today to see him

about this new development things looked up. He had actually read at

least some of the stuff I had given him. He actually said he was

impressed with Dr. Rutledge's work and that he would be my followup

physician if I really wanted this. But must get sugar under control

first. (appt with dietician) Then got home and had a letter from my

insurance company that they CONSIDERED THIS SURGERY MEDICALLY

NECESSARY AND WOULD BE COVERED UNDER OUR PLAN. Oh My, I don'g

hardly know what to do. I am so excited. I had not even talked to

my insurance company myself. This was just based on the letter Dr.

R. sent in after receiving my patient info letter. Oh my.....

My name is Betty Harrill and I live in Ellenboro, NC, half way

between Charlotte and Asheville. My BMI is 42. 5'3 1/2 " and 243 lbs.
