Guest guest
I won't go near Miralax, you can be sure of that! Thanks for the warning, I looked into it when it was Rx'ed for Tom's pre-scope cleanout, and decided I didn't want to have anything to do with it. I have heard about mag citrate but don't know much about it. What is it? Is it available at a drugstore? Is is legal? Does anyone know what it's derived from? How is it better/different from Milk of Magnesia? Guest guest
Thanks everyone who had advice. We are back from the pediatrician. She did find an anal fissure, so we are relieved to know we are dealing with an obvious simple problem. We're going to use mag citrate instead of milk of magnesia. The GI's nurse said to go easy on the meat as it's constipating, and to push fluids. She also said to increase vegetable with fiber, but with a kid on SCD, eating only veggies and meat already, with a very sensitive gut, who's already passing undigested food in his stools, more fiber is probably not a good idea. We are going to start pureeing his more fibrous foods, since we can't really cut any more foods out of his diet.
