<< feel light headed >>

Hi, ! Don't neglect your body's need for salt/potassium. Make sure that

you get enough V8 and/or Gatorade daily. We need the potassium to maintain

the circulatory system which delivers our nutrients. No or low potassium

levels cause the circulatory system to narrow...we get lightheaded and

fatigued. If you can, try nibbling on one saltine. The other thing that I

found helpful: protein, 60 - 70 grams of it daily. That's using yogurt,

tofu (in smoothies), protein shakes...you name it, I've created it to stay

ahead of my body's need for protein and potassium. Lastly, give yourself

some " down " time after you eat. Try laying down for about 20 minutes after

eating; it slows the emptying of the new tummy. Keep on truckin'! Dee in

if you feel lightheaded you might want to try broths, V-8 or

tomatoe juice & gatorade rather than sweet juices. Also nibble on a

couple saltine crackers. I think I would hold off on the cereal and

baby peaches yet. You are only 5 days post-op. I was afraid to push

it. Even though some people did add food!! It sounds like you might

need something salty. I am only 12 days post-op. So I am not an

expert!!! I found I made a lot of popsicles out of gatorade, juice &

ensure. It was a nice treat often.

Hope this helps,

Marie
