Guest guest
I work in a Migrant Education Program in rural, northern Colorado, and I would welcome any comments or suggestions on behalf of our local community concerning a sensitive topic. Local Latino parents have raised a concern in our community about older men picking up their teenage daughters at local bars, clubs, and other places. Our local Teenage Pregnancy Prevention Coalition is trying to help address our parents' concerns about issues like personal safety, domestic violence, dropping out of high school, and teenage pregnancy. Are there any programs out there that address these concerns -- for either men, teenage women, or local health departments? I would also like to hear any comments on cultural or other issues surrounding this topic. Also, our Latino community is overwhelmingly of Mexican origin, ranging from recent immigrants to established communities of a century or more. Thank you for your input.
