Ken, haven't you had documented cases of pancreatitis? What type of an MRI

did you have? I don't know if I would believe them if you have actual cases

of pancreatitis where the amylase and lipase were elevated. Although I do

know someone who was diagnosed with chronic pancreatitis - actually they told

her she had pancreas divisum from doing an ERCP - she kept going to other

hospitals until a biliary specialist did a colonoscopy on her and she had

crone's disease (sp). They had to take out quite a bit of her intestines -

they were twisted and intwined within each other - she is now fine.

My only positive results have been fat-fecal tests, triglycerides and

the endoscopic ultrasound. No blood test results, or any other images

show any positive result. This latest MRI is now calling into question

the result of the EUS and everything that I have learned and felt in the

last 2+ years. I feel totally lost and disassociated from everything I

know and understand.

On another note, my mother was shoved from the medical community to

psychiatric community and back for 10 yrs before finally getting a

diagnosis of Fibromyalgia. For the most part of that time, there was a

constant worry that maybe this was all psychological. She just couldn't

make the doctors believe.

Now, as I experience many of the same problems like the constant need to

convince the medical community, I also find myself having to convince my

family and friends as well. Guilt hits me hard at times when this

happens, because I also questioned my mother. I did not understand her

issues, nor could I fathom the hardships she faced daily. It didn't

help that I lived more than 2000 miles away. Now that she is gone, I

have come to have a better understanding of her trials thru my own.

I guess I always knew life wasn't perfect, but I have never had such a

level of reality thrust upon me before. It is a real shock to the

psyche. I just hope they can do something for me besides stuffing me

with narcotics.
