Adam,

It is basically what described a few days earlier.

I stopped eating bread, buns, bagels and anything else made of (white) wheat

flour. There are alternatives, though you have to look for them. Check out

the Organics section of your supermarket, or visit a health food store. You

will find spelt bread or kamut bread, and also kamut pasta, as well as pasta

made of rice flour. also mentioned quinoa, but I personally didn'f

find that here.

No dairy. If I have to, I use goat milk only or goat cheese. I used to drink

coffee with milk and sugar, now I drink it black (I drink only one coffee in

the morning, not too strong, and I am *refusing* to give that one up). Sugar

is easy is eliminate, or at least reduce significantly. I read the labels on

everything I buy at a grocery store, and I mean everything. I look at the

fat info, carbohydrates, etc. Pop is loaded with sugar, and some of it

contains caffeine, too. (I don't know about diet pop, I suspect the

artificial sweeterners won't do you any good, but I never drank diet pop

because I don't like the taste). So no pop - water or herbal tea only.

Lots of leafy greens - romain lettuce, mesclun, spinach (even though I saw

spinach listed as a potential trigger for some people), kale, collard

greens. No tomatoes. I am not sure if this applied to cooked tomatoes as

well). I don't drink apple juice or orange juice, but I eat apples and an

occassional orange, too. I usually eat bananas. apples, grapes, mangos,

cantaloupe, plums, blueberries, raspberries. No strawberries. Yes, there is

sugar in fruit, but it is unrefined and unprocessed, in its pure form.

Meat - mostly fish, though I still eat red meat, but less frequently. I

snack on veggies (carrots, peppers, kohlrabi, celery stalks). I know this

sounds very hard, and I was a bit depressed when I started because I worried

about all that I can't or shouldn't have, but I got used to it very easily

and I don't really feel deprived.

The guys at work brought donuts for everyone. Chocolate coated and filled

with boston cream. Everybody thought I am nuts when I said " No, thanks " -

fortunately, I was fairly resistant to such stuff even before. Oh and no

chocolate either - fortunately, I never was a big chocolate eater, so again,

no big deal for me.

You will find a way that is comfortable for you. I am really quite happy

with the weight loss, and I have to say that I realized I haven't had a

headache for a long time, except druing my period but a single Advil fixed

that (unheard of before, I would have a headache for 3-4 days in a row).

Check out your health food store to see if you can find wheat bread

alternatives. If you do use wheat, stick to wholewheat at least

Good luck.
