Hello.

I was diagnosed with rosacea today, and I think I need someone to

tell me it will be OK.

I went to the dermalologist about another matter entirely (a rash - I

have EXTREMELY sensitive skin) and I said " Oh, by the way. I have

this patch of redness on my cheek that has been there since around

February. " I knew it looked like those rosacea commercials, but I

hadn't gone to the doctor because by the time I have my make-up on,

it's just not that noticeable.

She said. " Oh, it looks like roseacea. It's on your other cheek and

down here by your lip, too. Let me prescribe a topical antibiotic. "

I asked how long I have to use the antibiotic, and she said

indefinitely. Which I am not happy about. I'm a 26 year-old female

and will probably be having children in the next couple of years -

what about that?

She didn't say I should come back in 3 months or a year. She didn't

say anything. I didn't have time to think of any questions, she was

gone too quickly. I know I am just another patient to her, but a

little advice would be nice...

So, I came home and started doing research on the internet, and found

that this is just supposed to get worse. And how am I supposed to

avoid flushing? That is like telling a fish to avoid the water!! I

flush over EVERYTHING. Which I suppose is what got me here in the

first place.

So, anyway, I think I just needed to tell someone about this. I'm

sorry to take up your time, but I appreciate the opportunity to vent.

Thank you.
