Guest guest
Hey everyone, I wanted to let everyone know that I am out of the hospital again. This time been out for two weeks. Almost spent a month in the hospital and winded up in ICU for two weeks when I was first admitted. Back in August I had a portacath put in and got 3 blood infections from it. A staph, strep and yeast infection. One day I winded up hurting in my chest and couldn't catch my breath. Winded up with pnuemonia. I went in on Aug. 19 and stayed until Sept. 17. The only reason I got out then is they wanted me to make an appt. in ton with Dr. Hawes since I had missed the one in Aug. from being in the hospital and MUSC didn't have any rooms available. I had to have the portacath taken out and a central line put in. Well a week later I was laying on the couch because the day before I had spent throwing up all day long. I started shivering uncontrollably and couldn't get my breath again. My mom winded up calling the ambulance at 11:30 at night. My heart rate was 188 and my blood pressure was 29/79. It took the docs two hours to get my blood pressure close to normal and my heart rate calmed down some before they sent me to ICU. The next day we found out I had double pnuemonia. The second day in ICU I was moaning in my sleep (The lovely nurses woke me up to tell me that) and that my oxygen rate was going down. I winded up on a cpap and then they changed the central line and shortly after that they came in and told me that I had to have blood and they were putting me on the ventilator. After that I don't remember anything but bits and peices until I was taken off the ventilator. I spent a couple more weeks including my birthday in the hospital. Karyn thanks for the card, I got it the morning I got out which was the 21st. This time they wouldn't let me go home with the central line. They came close to sending me to ton to put the jtube back in but we had a talk with the doc and they put me back on liqurds. I shouldn't say talk I should say fight because the doc that was on call that day told my mom it was my fault I winded up in ICU. Long story. Lets just say mom was fighting mad and I got upset more because I was already upset that I was going to have to have the jtube. I got to eating well and a week later they let me go home. I am doing better and have been out of the hospital for two weeks and hope to stay out for awhile. in Sumter, SC --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free.
