Guest guest
, Yes. When I eat a food to which I know I'm allergic, my nose does itch, and my ear (usually left!), deep inside. When my allergy was at its worst, my nose would also bleed, which was really pretty). Here's my personal (usual) pattern: Eat offending food (by accident!) 1. Itching in my eat 2. Nose itches 3. Get a little stuffed up, especially high on left side 4. Feel " tingly " and flush starts 5. Ears ring 6. Neck and jaw may feel " stiff " 7. Big flush, 8. Eyes get dry, scratchy feel and look bloodshot. They also itch and I get the urge to tug on my lashes looking for a " loose " lash. 9. Pulse races for a while 10. I MAY get itchy skin on my body, an itchy bump under my lower lip, itchy cheeks and jaw, etc. 11. I sometimes get canker sores in my mouth, on my tongue, etc. When this eases, I feel the wobbly, wiped-out, sort of feeling that follows an adrenaline rush, like after riding a roller coaster. I think that " heavy limbs " is one way to describe it, although I also feel a little shakey sometimes. Later, depending on the severity of the reaction, I may: * get a screaming headache (took migraine meds for years). This can be the next morning/day. * get hearburn, a " sour stomach " , or sudden-onset diarrhea. Conversely I may also have constipation that doesn't ease until the headache goes away completely. Can happen immediately or in the next few hours. * Large, hive-like bumps that take many days to go away follow anywhere from a hour to 72 hours later. I find that the bumps can continue to be appearing a couple of days later, which makes it really hard to make a direct connection. (This is why I recommend a food diary). The bumps show up in the same spots over and over, and left untreated (by diet and antihistimes), they'll form " island " shaped patches that become big areas of red -- itchy, swollen, peeling, cracking areas that also get little pustules in them. Hope this helps. Suzi __________________________________________________
