Guest guest
Antoinette, I am going to go out on a limb here. We have been doing GFCF for almost 5 years, now SCD for two months. We have three teenagers. We have had such amazing results with diet--everyone is appreciative for the positive effects. It has been life saving. Now, we have someone who can eat everything, a vegan (!!), and then Ben and I. I can't eat peanuts, cashews...and more stuff. He is highly sensative to, you know, lots. Everyone needs to get over it! I spent days being very stressed-- this managing of food, trying to make cool substitutes--it is stressful enough just making the change to SCD without trying to accomadate everyone's wishes. Now that we have adjusted they are pretty content with the food. And if they aren't they can add to it with their own labors. That includes being responsible for kitchen messes. We eat to live, not live to eat. We are a family, a team, and we have some sick members here. What we are doing now will impact their entire lives. We can all sacrifice for a period of time to achieve this goal. In other words, they need to adjust--it's hard on everyone. They are building in character and will apply this amazing experience to future events in life. Really, they will. And one day they will respect you enormously for it. And the mom is leading the way, without apologies. Just my two cents! Lorraine P.S. Soon enough everyone will graduate to the next level--they just aren't there yet. It's only 15 days--you are doing great. -- In pecanbread , " kikijabunce " wrote: > > All five of us are on day 15 of the SCDIET. " Jumping " ? The Stages are not a required procedure or written as part of SCD. They are a guideline for those who are unsure what to add and when. Elaine suggested once diaharrea clears up to add foods of your choice in small amounts and do it gradually. We advise keeping a log of what was added and any effects noted. Simply keep it simple for you and the baby. You will catch up. feed the rest of the family as you have ben doing. i assume you have chosen to give them SCD legal foods since you mentioned that before. Yogurt, peanuts, seeds, beans and raw foods don't get added at the beginning. Dried fruits should always be used in small amounts when they are added. Everyone will benefit by reading BTVC several times and studying the websites for the diet. Carol F. SCD 6 years, celiac

Guest guest
> > Yes we jumped alright! I can't hardly stand feeling sick again!. We had so much success last summer eating the paleo diet. I hate feeling sick again. I just hate it. I trust that the SCDiet is the answer...it is paleo after all. It is not Paleo. SCD. It may have similarities to Paleo but please don't confuse the diets. Antoinette, you are new to this and are forming conclusions that do not apply. For now, focus on learning what you require for SCD Dairy is not allowed on Paleo and although not mandatory on SCD, plays an important role for those who tolerate it. Cashews are not allowed on the Paleo Diet nor are beans. Discussions and advertising of alternative diets, illegal foods, treatments that are not recommended, or other subjects that are not part of the science and practices of SCD are not allowed on the list. This does include references made in the body of an e-mail, subject lines and signature lines. This rule is done to protect those new to SCD and to avoid confusion. Carol F.
