reducing inflammation when coming off antibiotics

Thanks to both posters who concurred that stopping antibiotics can

cause what I call a rebound inflammation reaction. Whenever I have

tried to go off doxycycline (after being on for a couple of months

and having reasonable clearance), I always felt like my skin got even

worse than before I started. When I've told my dermatologist this, he

says that he's never heard of that happening - and that I have just

forgetten how bad my rosacea had been before I started! Now I know

that I'm not imagining it.

What would be the right way to try to come off doxycycline and

minimize the rebound inflammation? (Say you had been taking 100mg. of

doxycycline/day for 3 months). And what would be a reasonable pulse

dosing therapy to try and maintain clearance?

Thanks!
