Someone here mentioned that that's what helped their child's belly. We've been gradually building up the enzymes here for almost 2 weeks now. My DS3's belly seems to be a little smaller, so I'm hopeful. I hadn't heard about it being stool stuck in the gut. My son has always been very proficient with BMs - he's been doing much better on SCD. :-) Steph, Aspie, IgA allergies to gluten & casein SCD 10 weeks
Guest guest
I was the one that mentioned that enzymes helped my child's swollen belly (see message #40704). At first I used just one enzyme, Houston's AFP Peptizyde. After being on the Peptizyde enzyme for a week, my daughter went from playing with her little sister for just 5 minutes MAXIMUM to playing with her for 3 hours at a time. It was a very dramatic change - and I was not the only one who noticed it. I asked Dr. Houston about this change in behavior because we had been very strict GFCFSF (also corn free, rice free). He replied that some children might have problems with numerous proteins, not just casein and gluten (which are both proteins). Within a few months I added Enzymedica's V-Gest (formerly called Carbo) and also Houston's No-Fenol. I don't know which enzyme or combination of enzymes were responsible for eliminating the swollen belly but it was definitely the enzymes that did it.
