Guest guest
I can go to Steak & Shake and eat l/2 cheeseburger and about 8 french fries!! I just wrap the rest up and put it in the frig and warm it up later in the microwave and eat it for another meal, so I don't waste anything. I was brought up to believe that wasting food was a sin. I suppose it is, so I try to use up all my scraps. To help me get over this belief that I too had, (I know at first when I hear someone post op say that they took one bite knew it wasn't gonna work and threw the rest away I cringe!! (old habits)) I have come to realize that Gluttony is a sin as well and if all I need is the 1/2 burger and 8 fries then it is okay to throw out the rest because eating it and adding to my already ample body is truly waste!! If wasting food is a sin and if doing something with the scraps helps -- why not give them to the dog! or the neighbors dog!! If compostable add them back to the earth!!! I save food and rewarm it for another time which works great for me. If you want to throw it out that is fine. I throw things out after they have been in the fridge about 4 days or so, depending on what it is. I love to cook and I still cook a lot but just healthy things, lots of veggies and whole grain breads and such.
