Guest guest
I'm a new member to this group as I was just diagnosed with cea 2 weeks ago. I'm struggling to find the right solution for me. I'm experiencing everything from papules and pustules on my forehead and cheeks, burning and stinging sensation on my entire face and I only get red for a few minutes when I have a flare or when I wash my face. I'm a Black woman and I'm not very fair and I've had flawless skin all my life. This has been very devastating to me. I can't avoid my trigger which is heat and sweating from excessive workouts as I'm a PT personal trainer and I need to stay fit and stress.... I'm a full time Corporate Business Manager for a major publishing company. I have also modeled so I need to keep my skin in the best condition. I have eliminated almost everything from my diet (I'm eating nothing but chicken and veggies). I drink a gallon of water a day and am taking doxycline and using metrolotion. As this is a disease that can affect anyone but primarily seen in people of European descent, it's hard for me to know if what I'm currently taking and doing are the best course of action for my skin which is very unique to Europeans. I would like to find a good Dermatologists that specializes in cea and that has had other black patients. However, I can't seem to locate one via the web. My Derm is good but that was my first time ever seeing her and she diagnosed me with acne rosacea. Any advice that anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated. My skin has started to show some improvements since being on the doxycline but it been very dry and itchy and it has the lumpy bumpy look instead of the flat smooth skin I've know all my life. I am also taking zyrtec as well to help with the itch. Please let me know if you have any suggestions on how to find a new derm or what I should do to help my case.
