Annual Check In

Dear Dr. Rutledge,

Well, my first full year passed on June 1st. I can't believe how quickly the

time has gone by. Not a days goes by that I don't receive all sorts of

compliments. I feel so confident now that it's hard to remember the self

loathing that I was filled with before I met you. I know you hear this time and

again but " GOD BLESS YOU " !

I weighed in on June 1 and I now weigh 138# In one year I've lost 120# Almost

half of my body weight. Everyone keeps asking me when I'm going to stop losing

weight! :-) I know that I can safely lose another 20 - 25 pounds before I have

to worry so, I'm not worried at all. The only reason I am still losing is that

I walk 3 miles six days a week. So I know I am toning and strengthening.

My energy level is through the roof. The more I do, the more I feel like

doing. I have some photos that were taken on my birthday in May (The Big 40)

that I will email you once I have them developed. You might still have my before

photos in my records. I submitted them to you on disk.

The neatest thing happen this weekend. While searching for my jeans I found a

pair that I thought were mine and put them on, they turned out to be my 18 year

old son's pants (not the baggy type) and they were too big! My son is not a big

guy. What an ego boost!

I visit your web site routinely and am glad to see you are doing well. I get

emails from a lot of interested people and I know you perform a lot of

surgeries.

CS is doing really well now too. Her excitement level increases with every

pound she loses and it's so fun to watch. It's great to have someone so close

to share things with.

I hope this finds you and your family enjoying a wonderful summer,

Warmest Regards,

Kathy Thorstad

PS.. You might consider adding a page to your website that addresses the MGB

and future child bearing decisions. I know you have had patients that had the

surgery and then had children. I know women that are really interested in that

information. I never know quite what to say to someone that wants to have the

surgery but also wants to have children. I know the nutrition issues are very

important and you could help address that.

Thanks again!

Kat
