It's time I finally introduced myself

Hi all,

I've been hiding for the past two months - thought it was time to say

" hi " . I'm Terri and although I don't suffer from all the redness from

cea that you all do, I believe that I am in the pre-rosacea stage.

I have had flushings over this past year - however I thought nothing of

it. It was only a few times and usually after drinking red wine. I assumed

that I had an allergic reaction to the wine and left it at that. But, I

experience a severe flushing after taking antibiotic/cortizone drops for my

eye. It happened almost immediately after applying the drops. My face was

beet red and swollen and it took over a week to get the dry crusts off my

face. The weird thing of it was that I had been using the drops for almost 2

weeks before I had the reaction.

I am experiencing mostly acne. However, I write to all of you because of

my eyes. For the past two years I have been experiencing Chalazions in my

right eye. I now have approx. 5 of them in one eye, which is why I was

using the drops. I've held back writing the group in hopes that one the

" Occular cea " messages would cover what I have.

I never suspected cea. It was my opthamologist who brought it to my

attention. Then I did more research on the Chalazions and there is

definitely a correlation. Went to a Dermatologist (big joke - don't even get

me started).... and although I wasn't red at that moment and he couldn't

diagnose me as having rosacea, he prescribed Plexion for my face. Has this

worked for anyone here in the group. I didn't want to be put on oral

antibiotics, but I tell you - been there done that for tooooooo long and it's

really messed up my system. However, I am sooooo tired of these growths in

my eye. Hot compresses don't seem to help. The antibiotic/steroid drops

weren't working before my severe flushing. (by the way, I started the drops

last night again in a desperate attempt to rid myself of these Chalazions - I

am keeping my fingers crossed that I don't flare up).

Anyone out there with Chalazions? Would be nice to hear from you. I

still have yet to try the Plexion - I am leary about putting new stuff on my

face. Any success stories with Plexion?
