Marisa,

check out http://hopkins-gi.org/

It has a lot of info on chronic pancreatitis. Especially

mentions that you can have normal levels of amylase and

lipase while having an acute attack of pancreatitis. Print

this out for the ER. Drum it over their heads.

Also, welcome to the group. Hope we are of help in getting

you the information you need and giving you a place where at

least some people understand what you are going through.

Heidi,

Thanks for your input on the antioxidant therapy.

you had said before that you use Royal Infirmary. Is that all you

use or do you also take other vitamins with that?

As far as your pseudocysts, have you every had them removed?

Did they do it through ERCP or by another way? I am so full of

questions :)

Marisa,

In addition to the Antioxidant Regimen of Vit. E, Vit. C, Beta

Carotine derived from Vitamin A, the mineral Selenium and

amino acid Methionine, I also take additional folic acid,

magnesium and Vitamins B1, B6 and B12.

I haven't had my pseudocysts removed. The largest one was

partially drained by CT-scan guided fine needle aspiration a year

and a half ago, and then all were left to resolve on their own.

They are half the size they were a year ago. I have not had an

ERCP, or any invasive surgery for my CP. If you want to read my

Don't ever hesitate to ask any questions that you think any of us

may have experience with! The combined knowledge of the

people in this group is vast, and everyone tries really hard to

answer questions that they have had some personal experience

with.

With hope and prayers,
