WEEK FOUR: agenda for myself

a.. note progress in journal

b.. continue with cleanser, aloe and moisturizer for another week

c.. consider stopping aloe after this week

d.. purchase juicing books (2 for comparisons)

e.. start comparison shopping for a juicer (i bought the omega 4000)

f.. continue with the change over to as many organic food items as possible.

g.. continue with the cooking from scratch

h.. begin weaning coffee intake...decrease by one cup per day until down to

1-2cups per day.

i.. begin taste testing teas: green tea, yerba mate',darjeeling, chai, earl

grey

j.. purchase chlorella, spirulina or blue green algae

k.. purchase ginkgo

Week four my eyes were feeling much better. The itching was minimal, the lids

were no longer red and swollen and i seemed to be making normal amounts of tears

again. I found i liked the eye wash to be body temperature rather than cold.

My face continued to feel cool, no pain, though it was still very red, bumpy

with pustules that seemed more like pimples now. The presence of pimples was

actually delightful...it signaled the arrival of the second stage: to open the

pores. The lack of heat and pain encouraged me to continue with the regime for

at least one more week as my face needed another week of aloe (aloe has

salicylic acid). I decided to wean off coffee to prevent withdrawal headache

and the rebound vasodilatation it could cause. Teas were looking pretty good.

I loved chai, green and earl grey the best. Teas offer a variety: green (non

fermented), oolong (partially fermented) and black (dried and fermented). They

provide antioxidants and are internally and externally anti-inflammatory. I

decided to take a micro algae until my juicer arrived (ordered by mail). I

chose chlorella which is rich in betacarotene, protein, nucleic acids (i.e. RNA

and DNA) which assist in cell renewal and chlorophyll which soothes

inflammation, detoxifies, builds blood and activates enzymes. I continued to

explore cooking and began planning an all vegetarian though not vegan

Thanksgiving Dinner. Garlic was incorporated into much of my cooking and

occasionally i even ate a clove raw (very hot!). I potted some cloves and

awaited them to mature...next fall i thought, they will be ready.
