Guest guest
I can send you a website about the REAL first thanksgiving that would crack you up--it is silly because: 1) the first one was not what we used to be told in history books 2) the food was not what we were told it was; 3)Americans have the awful habit of referring to it as " Turkey Day; " 4) The entire nation knows that with the absurdity of overspending and overeating that attends the secular part of Christmas that we will all, save for a few cf patients, be dieting madly in January to knock the blubber off that we acquired from Hallowe'en (October 31) until the 12th day of January; 5) The turkey industry (complete with hormones, pesticides, and genetic engineering to make the birds all white meat so we won't notice the butter and eggs in the " dressing " stuffed into the bird) and its absurd manner of keeping giant birds in tiny cages to " fatten " them--; 6) In the USA, the day after Thanksgiving is the first day of Christmas shopping in every township, county, burg, city and mall in the whole blooming country; 7) I would vote for roast beef any day! Just MY bias!; 8) the civil war is revived again as the south makes sweet potato pies and the north makes pumpkin (any kind or orange to red squash) pies; 9) People fight to get organic cranberries as this is a heavily sprayed crop, and increasingly tasteless; we buy canned Lingonberries from the Scandinavian countries at our house; 10) The men burp and fart (cfers doing same); the women slave and get swollen ankles, and those who do goose or duck get sick from all the fat, no matter how hard they try to drain it off by poking holes in the poor beleagured carcass. Think before asking ME anything! Love to you, Maia, The End (mercifully) n Rojas, and a happy thanksgiving day to all at cf parents who do all of the above tomorrow!
