Guest guest
I cannot agree with Naomi more. I have no doubt that Naomi is a physician, and I understand the resentment that many of the members of this group feel toward medical doctors. After all, if traditional medicine had not failed us we wouldn't be members right? Consequently many of us have abandoned scientific reasoning altogether, which is a big mistake. Obviously, as a veterinarian I have gone through a similar educational process as Marjorie, but I do not find her the least bit dogmatic. The things she knows to be facts are stated as facts, and those things that she does not aren't. I cannot comment on all non-traditional medical disciplines, but I have to deal with the consequences of many of them every week and I'll stick with basic scientific principles. I have been accused in the past of being sarcastic and derogatory to those proposing we all follow " natural " therapies (whatever that means) as if these drugs are somehow harmless because they have not been tested by the FDA and are not prescribed by traditional physicians. It is these same people, I have found, who are the most dogmatic in their beliefs. I appreciate Marjorie's input and value her advice, as I believe most of the members of this group do. If you disagree with what she has to say, that's certainly your privelege, but I challenge anyone to come up with one example of dogma in her posts!
