Guest guest
First I would like to thank all of you for your prayers, phone calls and cards. When I went to have my pancreas removed I was hoping that the islet cell would work, but my pancreas was too far gone. After the surgery I was doing great. Then three weeks later I wake up in ICU. I had been back to surgery 2 more times. I was on a Ventilator for 14 days. Doctors say I was near death, and I believe him. I remember waking up in the ICU and I could feel death. I wish I could explain that to you but there isn't any words to describe it. But I knew I was dying, and it is only by the prayers of Gods people that I am able to write to you now. I was in Memphis for 6 weeks in the hospital. ( a 9 hour drive) . I have been on home health since then. Was is the hospital for 2 weeks for dehydration and malnutrition. I am a type 1 diabetic. I have been on the pump for almost a week. It is wonderful. I can eat what I want, and don't have to give myself a shot. I am also on TPN and I have a wound Vac. After my surgery I kept busting open so they let me open and the Vac is to help me close up. I also got a leak in my small intestine and now I have an ileostomy. I hate it, but after the first of the year when I am healed they will reverse the ileostomy. Just wanted to thank you all and let you know what happened. If you are thinking about having your pancreased removed, Think long and hard. It is a hard and terrible operation. May the Lord be with you all. Lots of Love and Hugs, Tammy - TN
