They did see a " hot spot " . Has anyone had any experience with partials? > Ross Dear , I had the pancreatectotomy in February of this year,as well as the auto-islet trasplant. In response to your question;I can see no reason to subject your son to a partial and the trauma involved if he could have the entire pancreas removed as I did. The pancreas is located on the backbone and requires a great deal of trauma to get to it.The tail and body of my pancreas was enlarged before my surgery, even though my CP stemmed from the head,so even if one area is removed the problem can spread to another area and you are left with the same problem. Good luck,Amy
Guest guest
Has anyone had any experience with partials? > Ross , I had the tail of my pancreas removed due to a cyst that had a high chance that it would become cancerous, not due to pancreatitis. However, when I was actually in surgery they did say there was inflammation (pancreatitis). If you have specific questions let me know and I will answer them the best that I can.
