Guest guest
Hi You might have guessed from my recent posts that I am looking for a make up (foundation)that will not irritate me. I formerly used Jane Iredale (loose) but think it gave me problems. I assume it was either mica or bismuth oxychloride which it seemed to contain in fairly large amounts. Since I gave this up my seb derm is worse and every foundation I use on my face is making me itch. You might be thinking, 'Well, go back to the Jane Iredale if you had fewer problems with it than the foundations you are using now!' I would but I have a sneaking suspision that the JI (loose at least) was the cause of my itchy eyes. Since I stopped using the Jane Iredale (loose) the itching is all but gone. Their eye shadow made my eyes puff up and itch till I developed small scabs. I still itch in my eyes occasionally but mowhere near as much as before. Anyway, liquid foundations cause me huge problems. These seem to be the worst for my skin maybe because the ingredient lists are usually longer and many of them contain perfume. Powders usually contain talc which irritate and Origins 'Good As It Gets' powder does not but contains peppermint which I think would really irritate skin afflicted by rosacea. I am fairly sure it would bother me. Questions then... Has anyone had better luck with Jane Iredale pressed?? Has anyone tried Philosophy 'Complete Me' which is talc free and like Jane Iredale but with preservatives (The ingredients are as follows Zinc oxide, mica, silica, dimethicone, phenoxyethanol, methylparaben, butylparaben, propylparaben, ethylparaben; may contain bismuth oxychloride, titanium dioxide and iron oxide) Worth a try?? Personal testimonies would be appreciated, good or bad)! This is also loose but I am considering trying it with a sponge rather than a brush which is what I used with the JI. It used to fly everywhere with the brush and this could have been another reason for the eye trouble. Thanks very much and Suzi Le Baron, if you are reading thanks for the reply!
