Guest guest
Hi everyone, It turns out I have keratosis pilaris on my cheeks to go along with my flushing and blushing. I always wondered what those little tiny bumps were on my cheeks. Now I need to know the best way to treat them. I have found a few products that treat Kp, but there is no universial treatment for it. I was hoping someone on this board could tell me of a treatment that has worked for them or that they have heard worked well for kp. Thanks
Guest guest
I also have kp and was prescribed Lacticare-HC, which is lactic acid with 2.5% hydrocortisone. Initially I was hesitant to use this because it is a steroid, but I trust my derm and his belief that applying a mild dosage over two months is safe. I have improved my condition slightly since applying it every evening for the past three weeks. Has anyone else used this product? You can also get Lacticare over-the-counter, without the hydrocortisone. Lactic acid is an emollient that removes dead skin cells that block pores where hair follicles emerge, creating the inflammation that is characteristic of kp. Surprisingly this product doesn't irritate my skin like most other moisturizers. If you're against hydrocort or find lactic acid too irritating, Florasone is a homeopathic remedy billed as the " natural alternative to steroids " and can also help reduce the redness associated with rosacea. I wish I had known of Florasone before I began my Lacticare-HC, simply because there are no known side effects associated with this homeopathic treatment. P.S. This is my first post. Thank you everyone for your contributions that have made a difference in all our lives. Keep the success stories coming! _________________________________________________________________ Join the world’s largest e-mail service with MSN Hotmail. http://www.hotmail.com
