Guest guest Posted November 15, 2002 Report Share Posted November 15, 2002 Hi Jo, At what age was your son diagnosed? Josh's CF is what I would consider mild also. The year he was diagnosed we were introduced to a family with a son the same age as him. This child was diagnosed at birth. We have kept in touch and see them on and off in the hospital. While Josh is now 14, 135 lbs and 5 " 6 this child is at least a head shorter than Josh and has to struggle to keep every pound on. The last I heard he was on the list for a double lung tx. Josh also didn't need enzymes until last year. I still wonder if he actually needs them, because thats one of the med's he never remembers to take, and his weight speaks for itself. This is one of those times that you realize, yes, my son is sick. But you look around at how others have it so much worse. You count your blessings and pray for the other families and what they endure. P.S I've caught Josh sleeping several times sitting up with his vest on. I guess a teen can sleep through anything!!
