Guest guest
my cheeks havetypical cea. above my lip doesn't have cea at all, It is some sort of a seb derm/perioral derm/eczema/acne combo. It hurts, looks gross, peels, burns, etc but Never flushes. I have my next Photoderm treatment tomorrow (treatment #5) and was wondering what would happen if I asked the nurse to treat my cheeks etc with the deeper setting as planned, but have her go all the way down to the shallowest setting on my upper lip? The first 1 or 2 treatments had the largest impact on my lip, and since then all the other treatments have been ineffective and its gone back to normal. This makes sense as the problem appears to be right on the surface (dry skin, discolored skin, but no flushing). Dr Nase says in his book that Perioral Dermatitis responds really well to Photoderm (even when it doesn't respond to anything else, like whatever is on my lip). So I'm thinking it might be beneficial to do the remaining four treatments all at the shallowest setting on my upper lip. Does this sound like it might be most beneficial for that area? What I'm most concerned about with this idea, is Dr Nase constantly stresses the importance of treating the entire face w/Photoderm for it to be effective. Will treating my upper lip only with the shallow filters make it like I'm not really treating the entire face, and therefore affect the results I see everywhere else? I plan to ask the nurse tomorrow but she doesn't believe its important to treat the whole face in the first place, and she only treats my whole face because I asked her to. Thanks as always Adam
