Here is a recent email I received from this company and it has a link to their

site. They are really expensive, but sound intriguing. I received a sample

packet from them yesterday. I am not sure if I want to try it or not because at

the moment (keeping fingers crossed) my face is doing well. Please let me know

if you have used their products.

1. Your Skin's Future

The vast majority of people who contact us express their exasperation with

trying to regain a healthy, radiant skin. They usually describe a period of

time, anywhere between months and years, during which they have cycled

through a variety of options: Metrogel, Noritate, topical cortisone, oral

antibiotics etc. They feel as if they have reached " the end of the line. "

In essence, the skin disease creates a complacent, often depressed and even

angry, mentality.

Psychologically, while treatment has come to a plateau, the daily

small-traumas of spreading broken capillaries, redness, patchiness, pimples

and papules (not to mention considerable physical discomfort in many) goes

on to aggregate.

Its not just that having rosacea is a daily pain. If treatment is even only

partly effective, the disease gets progressively worse. Antibiotics and

topicals (such as steroids) are only a temporary suspension of symptoms

which extends the life of the disease. They do so indefinitely.

We cannot stress enough the following points if you are genuinely

interested in effectively treating your rosacea:

* rosacea is getting progressively worse as long as symptoms are present

* comprehensive and holistic symptom management is the keystone of genuine

disease treatment, without which lapses occur

* real treatment addresses all layers of the skin, the structures it

contains and is nutritionally rather than synthetically (chemical or drug)

based

* although most treatments offer immediate relief, regaining the health of

your skin can be a slow and ongoing process, particularly where there is a

genetic component to the rosacea and/or the rosacea has been unsuccessfully

treated, or only partially treated, for any extended period of time

* uneven treatment produces uneven and non-durable results

2. Oral Antibiotics

Oral antibiotics are commonly prescribed to lessen the symptoms of rosacea,

however they cannot be considered a bona fide treatment. Once their use is

discontinued, symptoms return, often worse than before because the skin is

presented with a sudden array of dysfunction. This compares disfavorably to

the initial onset period, which is much more gradual.

Above all else we do not recommend oral antibiotics for treatment of

rosacea because their extended use (the only form of use which yields

relief) will lead to significant degradation of the digestive system.

As a good assimilation of nutrition is fundamental to healthy skin, and

internal wellbeing, their use cannot really be regarded as viable over the

long term by those seriously interested in regaining the health of their

skin. For short term relief or emergencies, they are however appropriate

and commonly used.

Oral antibiotic treatment should be regarded as a " reprieve " while more

direct treatment is sought and established.

It has been clearly observed that oral antibiotics render rosacea more and

more problematic and subsequently distressing with time. Antibiotics, being

systemic, can be responsible for a wide variety of complaints ranging from

head to toe. Their exact mechanism of action on rosacea is not even known

and rosacea is not the result of internal infection.

The supplement Glutamine (an amino acid), taken 1/2 an hour before each

meal for 6 months has been shown to help reverse damage to the digestive

system. Glutamine is the primary constituent of the digestive lining and is

easily absorbed and utilized when taken as directed. It is often of

assistance in reducing rosacea symptoms on its own where certain foods and

stress appear to be provocative. Like most natural therapies, it requires

more commitment and time than the quick fix of a drug.

3. Metrogel

Many people complain that Metrogel is unkind to their skin. Other formulae

are available: Metrocream and Metrolotion. The different textures they

afford can, sometimes, help drier types of skin less dry, sore of red and

give these skin types a lighter, whiter appearance. It doesn't make much

difference most of the time, but its worth a try if your only treatment

option is this (or similar) product.

If you have sensitive skin (as most people with rosacea do), alcohol and

chemical based treatments such as Metrogel/lotion/gel (which typically have

very basic single active ingredient in base formulae) can take moisture out

of the skin and otherwise negatively affect the skin's functioning.

Unfortunately the skin can and usually does fall out of balance and, while

aspects of rosacea may be technically receiving treatment, the net effect

can be worse skin, more ready to behave unpredictably.

4. Orion Day Treatment

The Labo. Gers laboratories have formulated a specialised anti-irritation

day treatment. The treatment (which is completely absorbed in seconds and

contains natural moisturizing principles) is suited to those who:

· suffer from environmentally-induced rosacea

· desire sun protection, especially those who react to many sunscreens

· desire anti-aging skin benefits through protection against pollution and

free radicals

· react to many kinds of make-up

Orion is suitable for the eye contour as well as the face and neck. The

sunscreen contained is micro-encapsulated so as to remain on the skin's

surface. This is of benefit because the chemicals contained in sunscreens,

especially when used everyday, can be responsible for poor skin condition

and easy reactivity. If you wear make up, it also stops it from being

absorbed into the pores where it can cause breakout and reactions. At the

same time, makeup wear is extended and improved to keep both oily and dry

skin types as fresh as possible for as long as possible.

5. Other News

· Please note that the treatment offers on Alpha, Saturne, Ariane and

Sirius, as well as the new Vali Premices, will expire on April 28. If you

are interested in these treatments we would like to cordially invite you to

place your order now and save up to $27.00 on Ariane or $67 on all five

special treatments.

· Treatments aimed at hormonal and digestive aspects of rosacea management

and treatment are currently being prepared for export.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to

write back.

Kind regards,
