I posted a few weeks ago asking if anyone had heard of Nicosyn. I have some new

information about it.

Nicosyn has now hit the shelves of many Pharmacies. W/out Insurance it costs

like $30 a tube. With Insurance it obviously varies from subscriber to

subscriber. Nicosyn is indicated for the treatment of " Acne Vulgaris, Acne

cea, and Seborrheic Dermatitis " . It has the exact same amount of the exact

same active ingredients as Plexion. (10% Sodium Sulphasetamide, 5% Sulfur) I'm

assuming its got to be in a different base. Therefore it may cause less

irritation than Plexion. For those of you who have tried Plexion but had to

stop due to irritation Nicosyn may be a better choice (however Sulfur can also

cause Irritation by itself. plus I dont know anything about the base its in, so

it may not be any less irritating) , or those of you looking for something for a

cea/Seb Derm combo, or someone with papular cea etc may want to consider

giving this medication a try.

Definitely not a cure, but possibly one small step closer
