At Amy's advice when I asked a similar question, I looked at www.psr.org

, Physicians for Social Responsibility, and found a good report on

breastfeeding and the environment at

http://www.envirohealthaction.org/upload_files/IHW_FactSheet_BreastFeedi

ng.pdf

There's more information as well at this site.

Subject: [ ] Environmental, Agricultural and

Occupational Health and Safety Educational Materials

Apologies for cross posting, please feel free to circulate:

The Migrant Clinicians Network (MCN) is interested in developing more

culturally relevant educational materials regarding agricultural,

environmental

and occupational health and safety such as our recent comic book, Aun

que

Cerca...Sano, that we developed with Farm Safety 4 Just Kids and the

National

Children's Center for Rural Agricultural Health and Safety. (For more

about

this Spanish-language resource that discusses children and pesticide

exposure

and ways to minimize risks, see our web site at

www.migrantclinician.org).

MCN is particularly interested in materials aimed at protecting children

and

educating parents about ways to minimize risks. In developing Aun que

Cerca...Sano we did an extensive search for materials just to make sure

did not

duplicate efforts. Again, to avoid duplicating efforts, we would very

much

like to hear from you about resources (existing or out of print)

discussing

ways to protect children from various agricultural injuries and

environmental

exposures. Please let us know about such educational materials that

target

migrant farmworkers, Latinos and/or the broader immigrant population.

Below is

a list of potential topics:

Water quality

Sanitation

Personal Hygiene

Injuries

Pesticides

Asthma and air quality issues

Household Chemicals

Lead

Breastfeeding and the environment

Transportation and Structural Hazards

Skin and hearing protection

Please send us a copy or let us know how to order a copy. You may

e-mail me

at aliebman@... or mail the resource directly to our

California Office.
