Guest guest Posted May 31, 2000 Report Share Posted May 31, 2000 I need advice and maybe a shoulder or two to cry on. I just received my second denial from my insurance company today. I feel like someone has kicked me in the stomach. I had a good cry and still feel very emotional about the whole thing. The crazy part of it all is that they approved me for weight loss surgery but for open RNY. I am in an HMO and they cannot justify me going out of network even though I sent them a 90 page appeal on the reasons why I should go out of network. Also, I have Freestate which is the same health insurance Darlene has. She was approved in a month and is having her surgery Friday. I told the insurance company this and they said they couldn't reveal the circumstances behind that. The circumstances are the exact same. Please - does anyone have any advice on what to do next.
