Guest guest Posted August 28, 2002 Report Share Posted August 28, 2002 Hi everyone! Well, I got my test results back from my dr. appointment last week (MRCP, fat test, blood tests). And he said they are all normal. This is good, although I was pretty sure he would say that, it is still kind of frustrating because I hear so many here say that their tests come back normal.... He also said that the MRCP shows things more precisely than the CAT scan I had several months ago, but also said that one needs to have a fair amount of damage for it to show??? hmmmm... He said I could do an ERCP if I want--no thanks!! I had been feeling the vaguest discomfort only occasionally--no other problems really-- so he asked me to stop taking my birth control for a month and see how it is going, then take it for a month and see if I notice a difference. I don't know if I mentioned this in an earlier post or not, but I started taking the birth control pill Ortho Tri Cyclen in the end of Aug. last year (1 yr. ago) and began having what I know now were pancreas problems (pain, etc.) Alcohol probably played the largest role as I was still drinking then--not near what I had been doing in the past, but my doctor also said that estrogen (especially ADDED estrogen) increases the effects that alcohol has on our systems. Bingo!! So, for now it is kind of a wait and see, I'm feeling pretty good though! I really hope everyone is having a good day. Thanks!
