Guest guest
Hello everyone! Still fairly new to the group so I will brief you on my story before my questions. I have not been officially diagnosed with CP. Had a cyst and part of my panc removed in 2000 and just found out last week that I have a small (3 cm)pseudocyst on panc now. My GI doesn't think that small cyst can cause this much pain. He believes it to be IBS. I called another GI that I have seen in the past to ask her opinion. She agrees with him that she doesn't believe the pain is from the cyst. I had a horrible night of pain, so forgive me for typos, I am working on about 2 hours sleep. I know that a & l's don't always elevate. Actually mine have never really elevated that high. I think the highest was 175 and i believe the lab said normal was 130ish. She says that is only after years because the panc is burned out. I have been having this abdominal pain since 1999. She doesn't seem to think that is long enough for me not to get raised a & l's. So I guess my first question would be is it long enough? If I haven't had this disease for lets say more than 6 months is it possible the a & l's wouldn't be elevated? Even after such a short period of time? Can a pseudocyst as small as mine cause all this pain? Could anything else other that a panc problem cause this pseudocyst? I would think that there is obvioulsy something wrong with my panc if this is the 2 cyst in 2 years. And I am wondering if I need to go outside my HMO and find my own doc even though I would have to pay out of my own pocket. Does anyone know of any good specialist that would see me with out a refferal? I live in San Diego, CA but would be willing to go almost anywhere in CA to find a good specialist. I am so miserable and just ready to give into the IBS theory!! As long as the pain goes away I don't care!! Any info you guys could give me would be GREAT!! Thank you for listening and I hope everyone is feeling painless today. Thanks, Marisa San Diego, CA
