Guest guest
The nurse performing my treatments is great (And really knowledgable) but the one thing we have disagreed on from the start is the importance of inducing a flush. She doesn't think its beneficial at all, even after there is no longer any red (tho she did say if I wanna induce one thats fine). Unfortunately, as strange as this sounds, I can't ever seem to get flushed in her office.. (I spend my whole life failing at trying to avoid being red-faced, and whenever I actualy want to be red, I can't get it going... its real weird) I cant find a single store in my area that sells topical Niacin. I tried taking Niacin orally. (it gave me QUITE a flush, but also gave me chest pains, and about a dozen weird rashes all over my body that sort of scared me a bit, and I don't think I wanna take it again) I tried exercising (but got tired after like 60 secs, muscles have been really weak lately, moreso than makes sense.. but i'm sure part of it is cuz I hav avoided exercising the past year in an effort to not flush as often). I was too exhausted to move before I got even a bit red. I tried wearing a really heavy coat, and hat, in her heated office, and even THAT didnt do it (I have NO clue how that didn't work, it ALWAYS flushes me..) Finally, she just rubbed my face with a towel causing kind of like an irritation redness. I'm wondering, is this ok for inducing a flush? As long as my face is red? My face didn't feel warm, or burning, or sweaty, or any of the other stuff that comes with a typical flush... It was just redness caused by irritation on the surface. When Photoderm is concerned, is any type of red the same as inducing a flush? Or is there a difference between irritating the shallow skin and causing a deeper flush (that is typically caused by warm temperatures, comp monitors, foods, etc) If anyone has an answer to this I'd really appreciate it.. I only have 3 treatments left have probably more cea left than will be cured by 3 treatments.. I wanna try to make these last treatments as effective as possible.
