Guest guest Posted March 19, 2002 Report Share Posted March 19, 2002 Neurontin has multiple uses and was used for some patients with chronic pain in the hospital based pain clinic where I was employed for several years. A more recent use of Neurontin is for bi polar, mood disorders, where it is used to help stablize, or level out the patient. Many drugs are used for non label conditions and can impact more than one body system. Any physician can prescribe for non label use, and they often do. My personal experience is that drugs can have a positive effect in far lower doses than recommended. Major side effects often come from high doses.
