Guest guest
Hi everybody, I guess I am kind of a " newbie " too. I am a medical transcriptionist, age 43 and weigh about 320. I am going in for my final appeal with MAMSI Life and Health Insurance on Thursday. I am being denied due to exclusion of contract. If any of you were denied due to exclusion of contract and got it overturned and had your insurance pay for, could you please e-mail me as soon as possible. I am putting together a presentation and would like to be able to say that other insurance companies have approved this when it was excluded. I am single with a modest income and cannot afford to self-pay for this operation and really can't afford an attorney, though I did talk to one on the phone. I also sent in a form to the Obesity Advocacy Center to see if they can help. Any ideas or suggestions would certainly be appreciated. I am so thankful for all the emotional support this group has. It's funny how people treat you. There is a nurse at work who is trying to talk me out of the MGB (she has not been very successful). She brought me this book called the Weigh Down Workshop. I don't know if you have heard of it or not, but basically it says that God designed our bodies to know when we are full and we just have to go to God and relearn the signals for when we are full and then stop! She made me feel like a bad Christian because she does not feel I have asked God to help me lose this weight. She said this very nicely and I am sure that she only wanted to help and maybe did not realize she hurt my feelings, but it really did. I told her that I felt like Dr. Rutledge was an answer to prayer, not me turning away from God, but she didn't agree. Well, I'm going to work on getting my stuff together. Thanks for all your love and support. Carol S. MGB Hopeful since March
