Guest guest
Dear Meghan, You will still be able to enjoy food after your surgery!!! I absolutely love to cook, always have and always will. I revel in my cooking still to this day, even more so than before. Now I am more selective and I enjoy every bite and morsel. You'll be surprised at how your taste buds will change after surgery. in Mo. MGB 1 10 2000/ down 82 lbs.

Guest guest
Hi, Folks, As some of you may know, I am at the beginning stages of achieving surgical bliss with the dashing, courageous, and utterly inspirational Dr. Rutledge, whom is widely misunderstood by his peers, whom seem to me to be jealous they were not so pioneering! (Maybe if he charged twice as much for the procedure they wouldn't be so mad at him!) Translation: I am now addicted to this damned message board, chat, and the world of Gastric Bypass in general. And, after much agonizing and scrutinizing, have decided to have the MGB. I have sent in my patient info form, Dr. R has sent the requisite letter to my insurance company, and I now await pre-certification. (I should hear tomorrow). Meanwhile, I can't help but look at every bite of delicious food (and there are many), like I were never to see it again. I savour each and every morsel (did I mention that there were many?), as it if it were my last, knowing that in just a few weeks, if the insurance gods are kind, that I will be consuming a liquid diet for 2 months. Oh, don't pity me, for I gladly look forward to the meals one can suck through a plastic straw if it means that someday in the next year I might discover a whole new world of off-the-rack clothing purchases, lower grocery bills, and most importantly, a body which will serve me for many healthy decades to come. So, bring on the Nacho Cheese Doritos, the ribeye steaks with loaded baked potatoes... I will eat whatever I want for now... after the surgery I will eat what I wish-- and, what I wish is to be healthy! With hopes for health, Meghan
