Guest guest
Dylan is now 6 and from 9 months we did treatments. From things I have read and heard the best way is to make kids understand from an early age that this is it. If they don't like it too bad. Kids will fight, complain, KICK, etc. but once they realize its here to stay the time lessens. My daughter is 12 and still fights me but not like when she was 6. They are kids. What kid would want to breathe or do cpt's? NONE. We are the adults - the parents - we have to make them since they don't know whats good for them. All of the stories say that the adults that are doing well had parents that made them do treatments. They grew up knowing that they HAD to do it! If we don't instill the routine when they are young it will be utter hell when they reach 15!!! We all learned to brush our teeth. Yes, we hated it but we did it. Why? Because our parents MADE us......then we trusted and listened to them and now we must to the same with treatments. Kids don't know whats good for them we DO........... Just my 2 cents......... Rosemary in New York with 3 children with CF - they are 12, 10, 6...I coined the phrase " BREATHE DAMMIT " ; and now we have a dog named - are you ready for this - TOBI after their medication!
