Guest guest
Hello, I dont know if this is the right group to ask this to, if it isnt, and anyone knows where i can find the right group, id be much appricative if you could let me know by emailing me at mantigore@... I have noticed a problem with my hair/scalp for the last 2 years. I am 19 and a few years back i noticed my hair was thinning at the front, which worried me, and i took it to be something todo with a bottle of disinfectant type chemicals i emptied out to use as a hair spray. I stopped using that and visited a doctor later who said the way id described how i cleaned it would make it nearly impossible for it to have anything todo with it. The problems continued and apon later visit to the local doctor they said i had a slight case of eczema, ... the treatments the offered seemed todo nothing, and i wanted to see a professional in the area i was having problems. I did and they proscribed some medicated shampoos which didnt seem todo anything, i had a blood test done which came back fine, apon leaving that area i was asked to take another blood test for something else, but i didnt in the end, and i felt it pointless because that was dealing with my diet, and id never ever had a reaction to anything id eaten ever, and i wasnt eating anything abnormal or different. Now its a few years on and the problem has just become a part of my life which is very frustrating. I used to and still get quite alot of dandruff, now its only worse because my scalp sometimes gets red patches, and its mainly dry, and very stiff and sore. I can mainly feel this when i frown, it feels hot on the front half of my head, and looks slightly redened. It looks and feels scaly, and this problem seems to have moved futher on me, i have the same scaly irritating feeling eitherside of my nose, and if i scratch it gets red. It does feel scaly and my whole scalp feels like its under a few inches of dead skin or something, and it really bothers me. I dont like to wash my hair often now, because when i do, my hair gets very dry (which is annoying) but it gets clean, but now matter what i do my scalp still feels dirty even when my hairs clean. And i can relate to something i read on your website about the scalp getting very dry after having a shower, this is true of me , it feels worse after i shower then when i dont. I dont know what todo anymore, i dont know why my hair has started to thin at this age and why my scalp is giving me such trouble and why its spreading to my face. I can also relate to heat, when i get hot or do sports, my scalp feels even worse, like fire that cant escape. I really hope you can give me some advice because i am lost, i dont live where you are to get an appointment as im abroad working for the moment. So i hope you could spare a min to give me some advice on how to get rid of this problem. Is it genetic? Will it die away naturally? Why have my hairs thinned around where the irritating scaling started, and will they grow back if it goes? I was diagnosed with serrohic eczema or dermatis eczema? I cant remember the names, but both doctors and professionals said it was hard to tell. I also noticed a few years ago when it started, and so did doctors, little hairs trying to regrow out of my front hairline where the problem accured, i think theyve stopped now. How can i get rid of this problem and can those hairs grow back? Please help, regards, Jon J p.s. If you could email me insted of replying here it would be helpful as im new here, but even just a reply here would be most appriciated. Guest guest
what medications are you taking, if any? are you saying you took a botle of something and rinsed it out and put hairspray in it? what was in the bottle? sounds like you could have seborric dermatitis, which can cause hair loss, or a fungal (tinea capitis) infection of the scalp, but you could have a KOH scraping done to confirm this. I would try ZNP bar to scalp leave on for 10 minutes for 10 days and then same procedure tapered, if it is helping. otherwise further study (scraping/biopsy) is needed. > Hello, > I dont know if this is the right group to ask this to, if it isnt, > and anyone knows where i can find the right group, id be much > appricative if you could let me know by emailing me at > mantigore@h... > I have noticed a problem with my hair/scalp for the last 2 years.
